The Ultimate Charcuterie Board Cocktail To Try At Home
Summer loving equals beautiful friends, a great charcuterie board (filled with delicacies that you can conveniently pick up from Seventeen’s Deli), and a refreshing summer cocktail. Here’s the perfect summer cocktail, created by the talented mixologists at Seventeen, that offers the freshness of basil, the sweetness of summer melon, and a hint of savoury from a salt-licked rim.
SEVENTEEN’S PROSCUITTO AND MELON
RECIPE:
3-4 basil leaves, roughly chopped
2 fl oz vodka
1/2 cup pureed watermelon, cantaloupe, or melon juice,
3 TBS simple syrup
fresh lime wedges
a splash of sparkling natural mineral water
sugar or salt (for rim).
METHOD:
Cut a slit in the middle of a lime wedge and run it around the rim of a cocktail glass, then turn upside down and dip the glass into a small plate of Kosher salt (or sugar, depending on your taste), In bottom of cocktail shaker, muddle the basil leaves. Add the vodka, pureed cantaloupe, simple syrup, and fresh lime. Fill shaker almost full with ice, and shake vigorously for about 5 seconds. Strain into prepared glass. Add crushed ice to almost fill the glass and a splash of sparkling mineral water.
SERVING SUGGESTION:
Garnish with skewers of prosciutto, melon balls, and fresh basil leaves.
Serves one.
